What does a Hero do?

Julian’s imagination is running high these days! In the evening while I was washing dishes, he took out his Hero Cape and put it on and pretended to be a Hero. I played along with him…

Me: Oh there is a fire in the town! Quick Put out the fire and save the people!

Ju (Ran out into the living room, then walked back into the kitchen): Mummy, a hero does not put out fire! I am not a fireman!

Me: Then what does a Hero do?

Ju: A Hero only saves people!

??????………….

Julian turns 4!

This is a post 3 months overdue!!!

Julian turns 4 on 11th July!

Now at 4…

A smiley cheeky boy with never ending stories to share.

A thoughtful boy who will say Hello to a mentally disabled neighbour whenever he meets him… occasionally offer a quiet time for me when I am tired and cranky… play peek a boo with Jeanne when we walk home from bus stop.

A quick brain full of ideas to solve the little big problems he meets up with all the time.

Every year, we see so much growth in him. I wonder what the new year will bring for him…

Memories of 4 years old birthday…

Instead of baking a cake this year, we bought 3 Sara Lee Chocolate pound cake and decorated it for celebration at school.

Daddy and Ju decorating together, while Jeanne happily eating her Pocky sticks for the first time.

Ju happy with his cake…

Celebration at school! The kids at school never fail to come to Jeanne when she arrives at school.

A birthday song for Ju… This year, Ju is appreciating the song more. He is beginning to know what it means to be the centre attraction.

The Montessori Birthday Walk…

At home, Opening present time! Transformers (Side Swipe)… This year he had 3 request… Nerf gun, Transformer and Bakugan. All are “forbidden toys” in our eyes. In the end, we bought Transformer for him seeing it as a toy that needs construction skills.

Celebration at Ah ma’s home…

A CD made of chocolate from Jiu Jiu!

Celebration at Nai Nai’s home…

Ju opening present by Shu shu… A Woody and Buzzlight Year construction Set!

Celebration at Godparent’s home…

Our 4 lovely Kids…

Letting go of perfection!

Some days ago, I posted “letting go of perfection!” on facebook and received a list of encouraging words from friends… Thanks to all!

Am I a perfectionist? I guess I am…

I want a home where no ants can find us! I want kids who will keep their toys everytime after playing… I want to keep a smile on my face all the time! And now I am laughing to what I had just type! Well, welcome to the real world… I am letting go of these perfections and ideals in me…

Looking at these pictures make me laugh now… But when it is not in a picture, I can hardly lift up my cheek muscles to smile!

Play = Mess or Mess = Play

Ok.. this is part and parcel of a home with kids 🙂

A new year ahead… for me

There are so many belated things that I would like to blog and rant about. Too many to put in a post, so I will upload one at a time.

Changes after changes, year after year… I step into my 31st year of my life… That was in July anyway, 2 months ago…

I thank God for blessing me with all the trials to help me grow… and all the goodness He had blessed me with to overcome all the trials… I thank HIM for my life…

John brought me to a good treat at Coffee Club at Rendezvous Hotel, the one which he used to bring me when we were dating…

How yummy my birthday cake was? You can see it on Julian’s face…

Back to Petite Home…

Wow! Realized I had been away from blog for 2 months! These 2 months had been crazy busy and eventful for us..

…my birthday, Ju’s birthday, Joshua’s birthday, John’s birthday, Ju went for occupational therapy, me down with a vicious gum infection and food poisoning, John went on 2 weeks reservist, Ju on one week school holiday, Jeanne down with false measles, me embarking on some sewing projects… and of course, John working very hard on the website business everyday…

Oh my! Can you see how our days were were filled all this while… Well, I will update as I go along.. Stay tuned 🙂

Family Meeting

This is the second time we are having a family meeting. The first one was initiated by John and I. This time it was initiated by Ju. He chairs the meeting and he takes the minutes.

The question that Ju posted for all of us are “What do you want to change?”

Minutes interpreted:

1. Mummy cannot walk out of seat when eating.

2. Jeanne cannot suck her fingers.

3. Daddy will cut down on grumbling.

4. Ju Ju cannot talk when eating.

Ju said at this point : Cannot this! Cannot that! Cannot cannot cannot!

Me: ok ok, Let’s say what we can do.

1. Daddy and mummy must bring umbrella to school for Ju when it is raining.

2. Ju Ju can talk after he finish his food.
