This is not a Chinese New Year Posting but a 1st Jan 2009 New Year (One month late). Too many happenings to catch up here.. hee
John and I held our wedding on Sentosa Island on 1st Jan 2005. Following that, we decided that we would be back there for our future New Year and wedding anniversary celebrations. The only time we could spend time alone on the Island was year 2005 and 2006… then Julian came along… We can see how much Julian has grown!
Year 2007
Year 2008
Guess what? This sugar coated fruit cake was a gift from the hotel on our wedding day and we kept it in our freezer for a good 3 years and brought it back to Sentosa to celebrate with Joyce and Dan who were married with us on the same day in the same hotel! Still look nice ya… but no one dares to taste it, so it ended in the bin after we blew off the candle… haha!
This year, before we headed off to Sentosa, Julian sang a “Happy birthday to daddy and mummy wedding” together with us and he blew off our wedding candle with daddy.
Upon entering the hotel room, Ju was so excited that he cannot resist jumping on the bed while we unpack our luggage and fell. He bit his lips and this was him resting on the bed, motionless, tasting the blood from his lips.
In the evening, we had dinner at Marche in Vivocity. This was our yummy dessert!
Next day morning, swimming time! We went to a nearby store to get a new float for Ju and he wanted to carry it and roll back to hotel on his own.
John went swimming with Ju while I sat on the bench enjoying a peaceful time and reading my book… and also taking photos…
Daddy is Ju’s swimming coach… hee
Post swimming tea time… potato chips with chocolate milk…
In the afternoon, we brought Ju to Vivo to watch Ponyo movie… he loved it and so do we! A very simple and innocent animation. We bought the movie soundtrack too as Ju loved the theme song alot…
In the evening, Damon, Cindy and Clare came and join us for dinner and watch Songs of the Sea at Sentosa. That was the first time that Clare watched and she was a little afraid of the loud fire displays and fireworks. As for Ju, his first time was last year and we had caught the whole show on camera video. So, he had watched the video clip for countless times at home and he was looking forward to watch the live show again.
After the show, the 2 kids had a great time running and chasing each other around the compound outside the show area. Ju and Clare had endless exchange of bye byes after that… haha! It was really very cute to see them play together…
This photo was taken by the crews…
After parting with Clare and family, we went for a night stroll within Sentosa. It was a relaxing time walking together as a family with no rush away from the city and noise.
Ju had a try to use our camera. He took several shots and this was an artistic one.. haha!
Third day… To the beach!
Ju waiting for us and doing his “self cleaning”.
Ju inspired by the latrine we dug! Squatting behind his pail… to pee!
Daddy washing Ju after peeing…
Daddy was not feeling well but could not resist coming out of his resting mat to play with Ju…
A volcano that Ju wanted daddy to construct…
Daddy brought Ju to collect water…
Me with Ju walking in the water…
The wind was very strong. We brought along our kite to fly but however we tried, the kite just wont fly.
Ju picking up the kite stucked at a fence.
Changed location to fly kite after washing up…
Still cannot fly… Give up!
Tried cycling… Ju loved it but his legs were still not long enough… Next year perhaps…
This was the best choice!
I cannot remember when was the last time I cycled. That was many years ago! I was afraid I will end up banging into people and falling. John kept encouraging me and ta da! I can cycle! No accidents happened! haha!
The last activity of the day… The skyride and the Luge!
Ju was quiet and still on the skyride. He seemed to be afraid…
A family photo after the luge!
Will be back again next year!
